Please be aware that there may be road works in Wynyard Quarter when you visit. We suggest allowing extra time to travel to the theatre. We take every step to update you about travel to the area before your schools' performance.Click here for Schools Visitor Information
Schools Travelling by Bus
On arrival at an Acts of Imagination school matinee, our front of house staff will meet and greet your group, guide you to the venue and liaise with your driver about post-show pick-ups.
Students will disembark at the Madden Street bus parking area. Buses must approach the theatre from the Beaumont Street end of Madden Street and then pull into the bus stop to unload students.
Buses must not stop on Halsey Street directly outside ASB Waterfront theatre.
Bus signage: To assist, it is essential that your school name is clearly displayed.
Schools Travelling by Van or Cars
There is no parking at the ASB Waterfront Theatre. There are a number of car parks available in and around Wynyard Quarter, however parking can be difficult during busy event days. The nearest available carparks are: Jellicoe St carpark or at the Downtown carpark on Custom St West and walk across Te Wero Bridge.
If you are travelling by van, we recommend the Fanshawe Street Car Park.
School Audiences @styleClass>
We love our school matinee audiences and we encourage their enthusiastic response to our plays.
Some things to remember when preparing your students to attend a performance are:
Eating and drinking in the theatre is not allowed.
Turn off all mobile phones before the performance starts - no photography or filming during the show.
Actors on stage can hear the audience just as well as you can hear them, this includes your whispers, coughs and sneezes.
