Re-Start

A chance to refresh, reconnect & reinvigorate presented by Auckland Theatre Company and The Actors’ Program.

Re-Start was a series of free workshops for the Auckland acting community, held after Auckland came out of lockdown in 2022. We invited Auckland’s actors to join us for autumn workshops to connect with community & reengage with craft. Led by leading industry professionals, and offered for free to professional actors in Auckland, to help artists restart their creative engines.

Re-Start workshops emphasise collaboration, creativity & process. Workshops are aimed at professional actors in Tāmaki Makaurau. Minimum age of participants is 19. There are no auditions or interviews. First come, first served.

“Actors thrive on their creative community, stymied by the pandemic, and so initiatives like this are an essential reinvigoration of our industry. And a bloody good time in a room!" — Benjamin Henson, The Actors' Program Artistic Manager

“After a period of such disruption with actors separated from each other and from their practice, Auckland Theatre Company is delighted to be working with The Actors' Program to help restart the creative engines.” — Jonathan Bielski, Auckland Theatre Company Artistic Director & CEO
